Blizzard Confirms Hunter Auto-Shot and Wanding Cast Time Bug, Fix Coming
Wowhead reported on 2026-09-21 that the hidden cast time before Hunter Auto Shot and wand attacks had been reduced in the WoW: Forever beta. Blizzard's Kaivax confirmed on 2026-09-23 this was unintended and said a fix is planned, mattering to Hunters and wand users currently attacking faster than designed.
Wowhead spots shortened cast time, Blizzard confirms it's a bug
On 2026-09-21, Wowhead reported that the hidden casting time preceding Hunter Auto-Shot and wand attacks had been "reduced significantly" in the WoW: Forever beta, without stating whether the change was intentional. Two days later, Blizzard community manager Kaivax confirmed it was not: the 0.5-second cast time meant to precede an auto-shot or wand use "is not functioning properly." As a result, Hunters and wand users currently don't need to stop attacking for as long as the design intends, an effect Wowhead also described in its own follow-up report.
Fix targeted for an upcoming beta build
According to Kaivax's official 2026-09-23 post, Blizzard will correct the auto-shot and wanding cast time "in an upcoming Beta build, hopefully next week." No firm release date was given beyond that estimate. Until the fix ships, the shortened cast time remains live in the WoW: Forever beta, so affected Hunters and wand users can keep attacking more frequently than intended. Blizzard's statement is the only official confirmation of both the bug's existence and the planned fix; Wowhead's coverage relayed but did not independently verify Blizzard's timeline.
